A Message from Susie Pike

I created Golf Therapy after a friend told me she golfed with a gentleman on Wednesdays.  I thought, what a wonderful way to spend a morning...Helping someone, who couldn't otherwise get out and golf!

Literally, within hours, I had my business name and mocked up logo!

You see, I have a passion for helping seniors AND playing golf.  It makes perfect sense to combine them and do something so simple!

I have always played golf, since high school.  I even took a golf class in college.  I've worked on golf courses, played in leagues, driven the beverage cart occassionally, and enjoyed numerous golf outings throughout my adult life, many being fundraisers for various causes.

Several years ago, my stepfather passed away at age 95 from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.  At the end of his life, I helped my mother caregive for him.  Something I never imagined I could do.

That started my commitment to the Alzheimer's Association and volunteering and raising money for that organization.  Then within the last 6 years, I began working in the senior health care industry.

Again, I learned something new... I enjoyed working with seniors!

Now I have an opportunity to combine my love for helping seniors with cognitive impairments, and my love for being outdoors, golfing, exercising, socializing, and giving back.

A percentage of profits of Golf Therapy will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association, Walk to End Alzheimer's each year.

This is a new journey for me, and I'm very excited to begin it. I'm not on my own though.  There are so many friends and family who have helped me these last few weeks get started !!  Thank you all so much !!

If you know someone with early onset or mid stage Alzheimer's Disease, dementia issues, recent strokes or other cognitive impairments who used to golf, but now are too embarrassed to be out there with friends or alone, please contact Golf Therapy.

Getting someone to enjoy something they've loved all their lives, but just need a little help to do it with dignity & support, is a gift worth giving!

I promise you, it will be the highlight of their week!
